Roy L. Raines, age 72, of Greenback, passed away Wednesday evening, March 29, 2017 at the family home surrounded by family. He is retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company. He was a lover of country and gospel music and loved to play the steel guitar and was also an avid hunter. Preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Anna Raines; great-grand daughter Myla Kimsey, brother-in-law Dennis Perkins and father in law, Ralph Perkins. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Raines; children and spouses, Lisa and Kyle Ledford, Brian and Bridgett Raines and Trina and Chris Hill; grandchildren and spouses, Callie and R.D. Allison, Cabe and Chavis Wright, Chelsey Raines and Josh Barnes, Ian Raines, Makenzie Raines, Crysta and Drew Kimsey and Caleb Hill; great grandchildren, A.J., Mahala, Bradley, Kylie, Kendra, Ryleigh, Carter, Colton and Scarlet; brothers and sisters, Betty Simpson, Kathryn Jackson, Judy (Tom) Carver, Sandra Gascon, Gary (Jane) Raines, Michael (Tammie) Raines; mother in law, Lillie Perkins; sisters in law, Nellie Peak, Faye Hearon, Darlene (Troy) Rudd; brothers in law, Thomas (Shirley) Perkins, Wayne (Denyse) Perkins, Gordon (Sandra) Perkins, C.F. Perkins and Ronnie Perkins and many nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Blount Memorial Hospital, especially Dr. Mark Green and staff. Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Lon Shockley and Rev. Carl Croft officiating. Graveside service and interment 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Pine Grove Cemetery.
