William "Richard" Wilson, born August 21st, 1938, entered into his heavenly home on January 26th, 2026. He was an avid bass fisherman and deer hunter. He was a dedicated greeter at Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed card games and fast cars, and he was a competitor in everything he did. He was an incredible husband, father, and Papaw who gave the utmost love and support to his family.

Preceded in death by his father and mother Roy and Mae Wilson, infant son William Richard Junior, brother Charlie Brown, father and mother in-law Red and Inez Gourley, brother and sister in-law David and Shirley Beason, grandson Jerry Lynn Burchfield, special hunting and fishing buddies Papaw Graves, Buddy Austin, and Howard Whitehead.

Family left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 67 years Bobbie Wilson, three daughters Debbie (Tony) Shields, Cindi (Jimmy) Young, and Julie (Shawn) Evans, grandchildren Chrystal (Shane) Collins, Chara (Brad) Boring, Chae Devine (Samantha Houk), Kalley Young, Caelan Evans (Jane Persaud), Ali Evans (Riley Long), John (Rita) Burchfield, Krista Cummings, great grandchildren Tucker, Mazi (Braxton Chaney), and Baren Collins, Aiden (Kylie) Monroe, Onyx and Ayla Boring, Aubrey Devine, Hannah and Emma Burchfield, sister in law Norma Brown, special friends Ronnie Suttles, Glen Smith, Scott Myers, Roger Sellers, Carolyn Graves, Donnie and Betty Bales, The Brookman Family, and many special nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be on Thursday, January 29th at 3:00pm at Friendship Baptist Church with Gabe Brown and James Atkins officiating.
