Obituary

We celebrate the life of Wanda Kerr Jackson, who passed peacefully on December 10, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living Center at the age of 93. While we miss her deeply, we take comfort knowing she is now at rest and held in God's care.

Born on June 7, 1932, Wanda lived a life filled with love and kindness. She believed in treating people with generosity and compassion.

Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She retired from First Tennessee Bank (formerly Bank of Maryville) in 1994 after 35 years of dedicated service. She was also a faithful and devoted member of East Alcoa Baptist Church for 62 years.

She cherished time with her family and friends and found joy in helping those in need—sharing her generosity with her church, local charities, and individuals alike. Wanda was a woman of steadfast faith. She was accepting, loving, and gracious to all she encountered. In recent years, she especially treasured time spent gathering with her family and close friends. Her kind spirit leaves a legacy that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Wanda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Kent Davis; her grandchildren, Brad Davis and Abby Sonnenfeldt (husband Matt); and her two precious great-grandsons, Davis and Myles Sonnenfeldt. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Burchfield, and sisters-in-laws Judy Kerr and Sandra Kerr, Ruth Stinnett and many nieces and nephews who take comfort in remembering her strength and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lela Kerr; her husband of 43 years, John Jackson who passed in 1997; her brothers, Mayford Kerr and Darryl Kerr; and her sister, Reba McDaniel (and husband Keith) brother in-law Gene Burchfield and many Jackson and Stinnett brother and sister in-laws.

All who knew her are welcome as we remember a beautiful life and give thanks for the peace she has now found.

In lieu of flowers, Wanda is requesting donations be made in her memory to Special Growers (specialgrowers.com) and East Alcoa Baptist Church.
