Verl E. Hearon, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Blount Memorial Hospital.  He was a Deacon at Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Maggie Hearon and son, Michael Hearon. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alma Sue Byrd Hearon; son, Jerry (Cynthia) Hearon; grandsons, Andy (Kacie) Hearon, Matt (Jamey) Hearon, Caleb Hearon, and Noah Hearon; great-grandchildren, Abram Hearon, Carol Sue Hearon, Avery Hearon, and Ella Hearon; sisters, Irma (Kenneth) Blythe and Ernestine (Jim) Russell; sister-in-law, Patsy Meyer; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Maxine) Byrd.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Happy Valley Cemetery Fund, 6525 Happy Valley Rd. Tallassee, TN 37878.  Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Clifton Hearon and Rev. Steve Whitehead officiating.  Interment service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Happy Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
