Thomas "Cory" Myers Gunnels, loving husband and father passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the age of 38.  Cory was born on May 12, 1982 in Knoxville, TN to Doug and Vicki Gunnels.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in 2005 and worked for ALCOA/ Arconic for ten years.  On August 7, 2010 he married Ashton Radcliff and together the were raising their six-year-old son, Cabe Harley Gunnels.  Cory had a passion for his family's farm and spent much of his time there.  He also loved to snowboard and traveling out West with his friends.  Hunting, gardening, and being outdoors were some of his favorite pastimes. He was hardworking and known for his great sense of humor and love of family and friends.  Cory was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harley and Johnnie Myers and Grant and Addie Lou Gunnels.  He is survived by his wife, Ashton; son, Cabe; parents, Doug and Vicki; and brother Brett.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, PO Box 274, Greenback, TN 37742, for the building of a children's playground in Cory's memory.  Graveside service will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rev. Ron Sabo officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM Saturday at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Greenback, TN.  Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
