Thomas Jefferson Burris, born March 7, 1952 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 2, 2023.  Jeff was preceded in death but his father Marshall Burris, Jr. and father and mother-in-law Carl and Roberta Helton.  Jeff was a member of Springview Baptist Church.  He graduated from Porter High School in 1970.  He was a member of the Tennessee National Guard  and retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company after 42 years.  He was an avid fisherman and teller of stories.  His greatest joy was being a papaw to his 7 grandchildren.

Jeff is survived by the love of his life for 50 years, Karla Helton Burris; Mother, Betty Sue Burris; Sisters, Brenda Jones and Marsha Eastridge; Uncle,  Jerry Atkins (Star); daughters and sons in laws, Kendra and Billy Holt, Brooke and Jeremy Patty, Kayla and Bret Shaw; grandchildren; Cooper and Kynzee Holt, Carter and Owen Patty, and Rory, Reid, and Baylor Shaw; along with several nieces and nephews and special fishing buddies.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Springview Baptist Church and funeral to follow with Pastor Ben Ward officiating.  Family and friends will meet on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service.
