Teressa Lynn Dixon Hammontree, passed away September 19, 2023 after a prolonged illness.  Teresa was an employee with Alcoa City Schools for many years, she spent the last 20 years caring for various family members.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Ruby Dixon.

Teresa is survived by her adoring husband of 45 years, David E. Hammontree; daughter, Kelly (Jordan) Leslie; son, Mitchell Hammontree; daughter, Julie (Jeremy) Proctor; her beloved grandchildren, Kairi, Danica, Henry, and Hudson; sister, Beverly (Greg) Wallen; brother, Mark (Karan) Dixon.

Teresa had a huge and kind heart. She was driven to help others in any way she could.  Opening her home to others in their times of need on multiple occasions.  She never told David no, no matter how many animals he brought home. She was a second mother to many of her children's friends and a good friend to many others.  Never one to let a small thing like an ocean get in her way, she flew to both Catania, Italy and Sasebo, Japan to visit new grandchildren. Teresa was kind, loving, forgiving, patient, and spunky.  All things we should strive to be.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Delbert Raines officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
