Maryville

Obituary

Steven Shane Webber, 49, of Maryville gained a healthy heavenly body on Sunday, December 15, after a well-fought battle with cancer.

Shane was a lifelong resident of Maryville, where he was a beloved friend to many. He was always willing to share a joke alongside his bright smile. He was a loyal friend who was quick to care for others before himself, and those close to him knew this to be true especially in the love he had for his Granny.

Shane was an avid fan of the Vols and was always willing to catch a sporting event together. He especially loved to keep up with the Maryville College Scots football team. When Shane wasn't working, he could often be found golfing with some of his best friends.

Shane was blessed to join his adored Granny, Dorothy Webber, in Heaven. He leaves behind his mother, Terri Webber; uncle, Vince (Sherri) Webber, and aunt, Rhonda (Kenny) Oakes; several cousins; two half-brothers, Ross (Amanda) Boling and Keith (Benjamin Scruggs) Boling; close friends Christopher Saxon, Paul Walker, and Wesley Richards; and beloved friend and caregiver, Jana (James) Thacker, along with her family.

A receiving will be held Thursday, December 19, from 5-7:00 at Miller Funeral Home in Maryville with services immediately following. A graveside service and burial will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa on Friday, December 20, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, Shane asked that donations be made to the Blount County Boys and Girls Club.
