Sally Merrill Lambert, 86, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, in Maryville. Born on November 6, 1939, in Hanover, New Hampshire, Sally was the cherished daughter of Helen and Joseph Merrill.

A proud graduate of Hanover High School’s class of 1957, Sally carried the values and friendships she cultivated there throughout her life. She married Everett “Joe” Lambert, a dedicated veteran who served for twenty-three years in both the United States Air Force and Navy. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion to their family.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe; her son, Donald Lambert; her parents, Helen and Joseph Merrill; her brothers, Ricky and Joseph Merrill; and her sisters, Betsy Taft, Roberta Durgin, and Pamela Duff. Despite these losses, Sally’s enduring strength and warmth were a source of comfort to all who knew her.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Merrill and sister, Patricia Marr; her children, Debbie Wood, Donna Lusinger, Dona Lambert, David Lambert, and Diane Riddle; as well as fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Sally’s family was the heart of her world she took great pride in being a loving wife, mother, sister, and “Nana.”

Sally found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who could often be found immersed in a good book. She enjoyed playing canasta with her friends and family, a pastime that brought laughter and connection to many gatherings. Her beloved dog JoJo held a special place in her heart as a constant companion. Above all else, Sally treasured her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her legacy is one of love, kindness and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. May Sally’s memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A private service will be held at a later date to honor Sally’s remarkable life.
