Ruth Ann McCarter, age 76, of Greenback entered the gates of Heaven on December 12, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Richard McCarter; father, Calvin Castle and sister, Sandy Castle.

She is survived by daughter, Melissa McCarter and favorite son-in-law, Greg Bevins; daughter, Kelly McCarter; cherished granddaughter, Madi Griffeth; sister and brother-in-law, Roma and Eddie Cress; several loved brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews; and her favorite dog, Mia.

A special thanks to friend, Sharron Hamilton, Bakers Creek Presbyterian Church, Dr. Delayne Long and Dr. Kevin Meyers.  We extend special thanks to all of the Staff at River Oaks place in Lenoir City and RN Rebecca Aikens; your compassionate and loving care of our mom will never be forgotten.  A special thanks to Adoration Hospice for their kindness and support.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, December 15, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Ron Sabo and Rev. Ford King officiating.  A graveside service will be held later at Morganton Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
