Robert L. Garner, 79, of Walland passed away Monday, October 31, 2022, at home with his family.  He was a member and deacon of Pleasant View Baptist Church.  Robert was an avid sports fan, softball coach and salesman.  Preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ethel Garner; and brother, Johnny Garner. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Melody (Rick) Stinnett and Laura Beth (Stefan) Brown; grandchildren, Lindsie (Bo) Gribble, Corie Beth Lockett, Garrett Stinnett, Christopher and Jodie Brown; great-grandchildren, Carson, Kylie, Whytlie, Sophia, Carmen, and Delaney; son-in-love, Ernie (Michele) Ridings; nephews, Shannon and Brad Garner; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Nancy Whitehead.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2022, at Pleasant View Baptist Church, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Rev. Ken Payne officiating.  Interment will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Old Piney Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 487 Cochran St, Alcoa, TN 37701.  Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville
