Rickey Vandergriff, age 64, of Maryville passed away after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, January 13, 2024.  He worked at Skier's Choice of Maryville for many years.  He loved fishing, gardening, and making birdhouses.  He was the most honorable man and a great provider for his wife and kids.  He loved his grandchildren more than words can explain. Rickey had a strong faith in God and loved his church family.  Rickey was the hardest worker anyone could ask for and was always willing to help anyone he could.  His last words for all of us: "Love each other, take care of one another, and get your heart right with the Lord. Because I'm going home."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jennie Wrenn Vandergriff.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Vandergriff; son, Justin (Jeana) Vandergriff; stepchildren, Steve (Katie) Basler, Brandy Basler, and Daniell Foster; grandchildren, Luke, Lilly, Layla Basler, Caleb, Nate, and Camryn Basler; brother, Roger Vandergriff; sister, Teresa Julian; nephews, Preston (Kaci) Julian and Ty Julian; and two great nieces.

Rickey loved and touched each one of our lives.  In his words, "I'll see you soon."

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, January 22, 2024 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Scott Potter officiating.  Interment will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with pallbearers, Luke Basler, Steven Basler, John Burlingame, Jacob Boleware, Koner Webb, Keith Wade, and Sam Compton.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
