Richard Everett Chance Jr. (Ric) born March 31, 1951, of Maryville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 19, 2026. He was a graduate of Sevier County High School, worked as a diesel mechanic, and was a proud Army Vietnam veteran. He was loved and greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Kirkland Chance; parents, Faye and Richard Everett Chance Sr.; sister, Linda Chance Breeden; brothers, Randy and Rodney Chance; special friends, Janice Kirkland and Dwain Fox.
He is survived by his daughters, Tia Arrowsmith and Stacy Martin; sister, Tina Chance; brother, Gary Chance; grandchildren, Chace Smith, Seth and Alexis McNabb, Chase (Felicia) Martin, Chesney (Drew) Shrum; great-grandchildren, Aniston Shrum and Matthew, Everly, and Rosalie Martin; special friends, Iva Kerr, Jean Tipton, Eldon Tulloch, Brenda McDaniel, Paulette Brewer, Amy Coppenger, Shirley Carson, Shirley Ridings, David Newberry and the Kirkland family.
Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Little Toqua Cemetery in Monroe County, with Rev. Derek Bryant officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM Thursday for visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
