Rebecca A. Howard, age 79, of Pingree Grove formerly of Bridgeview, IL., passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by and under the care of her family on Wednesday evening, February 2, 2022. Rebecca was born in Sugar Tree, TN on June 8, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Harry & Ellen ( nee Hickerson) Douglas. If you knew Becky, you know, she is rejoicing in heaven with her husband of 60 years Floyd who passed away on November 28, 2021. Becky moved to Bridgeview at an early age with her late parents and brother. She lived in Bridgeview most of her life. She graduated from Argo Community High School in Summit, IL in 1960. She met Floyd, and they were married on June 24, 1961. They had three children. She was a member of Argo Wesleyan Church for many years and also an active member of Wesleyan Missionary Church in Chicago. Becky had the heart of a caregiver. At an early age she took care of her younger brother, and some of her nieces and nephews. She never complained just went about it with a loving heart. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and adored all of them. She showed them love, but more importantly the love she had for Jesus Christ. She loved visiting with her family and friends. Becky had a most infectious laugh that everyone loved. Becky was kind, loving, gentle soul, who was a friend to many and will be missed by all. Survivors include her children, James (Sue) Howard, Ellen Denise (David) Edwards, and Elizabeth "Liz" (Christopher) Ciolino. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Kevin (Sharon) Clayton, Sara (Brandon) Basile, Savanna (Dantryll) Lucas, Riley, and Ella Ciolino; her great-grandchildren, Elliott Lucas, and Erin and Megan Clayton. Her sister-in-law; Emma Gene (the late Arthur) Martin, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years Floyd D. Howard on November 28, 2021. They married on June 24, 1961, and her brother, Rodger Douglas.
Funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday February 17, 2022, at new Providence Primitive Baptist Church and interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
