Pearl Emeline Boring Hampton, of Greenback, went peacefully to be with her Lord and loved ones who have gone before, on Sunday morning, July 14, surrounded by her family and favorite gospel music.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be remembered for her strong faith, generosity to help anyone in need, and her love of nature and animals. She was a master gardener and cook, always sharing her bounty with friends and family. She was active in her church, serving in the nursery, children's church, Sunday school; a Vacation Bible School teacher, Girls in Action & Acteens leader. Her most cherished role was Nan-Nan, her grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Florence Boring; brothers Bill, Thomas, George, Clyde, Jim, Calvin, Herman, Walter Lee Boring; her sisters Evelyn Snavely, Irene Fox, Polly Wilson, Audine Cooper.

Survived by her husband of 65 years, Bob Hampton, son Roger (Lisa) Hampton of Greenback and daughter Julie (Jeff) Murr of Maryville; her grandchildren Heath (Erika) Hampton, Haley (Thorn) Cooper, Amanda Murr, and Emily (Rob) Blanton. She is also survived by sister Ann Wilson, dear sister-in-law Brenda Hampton, honorary grandchildren Jeremy and Sarah Hawlik, special friends Julee (Mark) Clark and sons McKinley and Elijah, Chad (Polly) Evans, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation for the many expressions of sympathy they have received. Special thanks to the medical teams at Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville Family Medicine and Lifecare Center of Blount County.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to East Tennessee Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Friends may gather at graveside service on Thursday, July 18 at 10 am, at New Providence Primitive Baptist Church with Russ Cooper officiating. The family will have a guest book available at Miller Funeral Home in Maryville.
