NANCY MARIE CLARK DAILEY | 1936-2025

Nancy Marie Clark Dailey, 87, of Greenback, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 5, 2025. Nancy was a Christian, devoted to her family, and known for her strong work ethic in all she did.

After graduating from the Tennessee School of Beauty in 1957, Nancy worked in several beauty parlors before opening her own shop at home, allowing her to be there when her children came home from school. She worked as a beautician for over 50 years. She treated her clients like family, serving many for decades, and even driving them to and from their hair appointments when they could no longer do so themselves.

Nancy was a very involved parent and enjoyed being a cheerleading and basketball mom. Both her daughters consider her the strongest person they have ever known. She was a constant in their lives and always wanted the best for them.

She loved her parents deeply and cared for them faithfully. She was also a caring aunt and sister, many times having family live with her when they fell on hard times.

As a grandmother, "Nana" was ever-present—celebrating milestones and attending events, both big and small. Many wonderful memories were made staying over at her house and going on family trips. She was an exceptional cook who loved gathering her family around the table for big meals filled with laughter.

In her 50s, through much hard work and determination, Nancy studied for and earned her GED – not because she needed it, but because she wanted to make herself and her family proud.

Her family and friends enjoyed her feisty personality and quick one-liners. She was fiercely independent and threw herself full-force into whatever she did. She still holds a lawn-mowing speed record.

Nancy trusted the Lord and was a faithful reader of the Word. Early in life, she was a member of Niles Ferry Baptist Church under the leadership of R.M. and Delight Everett, cherished family friends. Later, she joined Friendship Baptist Church, where she found lifelong friends in pastor Jimmy and Margaret Riner.

In her later years, Nancy made her home at Clover Hill Senior Living, where she was recently voted "Most Likely to Make the Staff Laugh"—a reflection of the joy she continued to bring to others.

Nancy was preceded in death by husband Austin Dailey; parents Roy and Edith Clark; sister Barbara (Don) Cureton; brother Leroy (Judy) Clark; and son-in-law Darrell Priddy.

She is survived by daughters Micki (Larry) Pruitt, Tonia Dailey Priddy; granddaughters, Whitney (Nicholas) Winston, Michaela (Jason) Dotsch; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Clark Winston; step grandchildren, Amber (Chris) Priddy,  Kellie (Josh) Priddy Cash, and Lacey (Krisha) Priddy; sister, Betty Ruth (Ronnie) Agan; sisters-in-law, Ruth Welch Wilson and Kathleen Kirkland; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Clover Hill Senior Living for the kindness and care they showed Nancy in her later years. A special thanks to Tanya Kilby who spoiled Nancy with extra care and love. Our sincere appreciation to her many staff and caregivers through the years; Amber, Amy, Anita, Angie, Annie, Alanna, Audrey, Brenda Sue, Brittany, Carie, Chelsey, Christine, Courtney, Dave, Deanna, Dustin, Elizabeth, Erika, Gary, Heath, Jamie, Jennifer, Kay, Khris, Kimberly, Lakelyn, Lauren, Lexie, Lucinda, Lucy, Malaysia, Mary, Mary Beth, McKenzie, Melissa, Michelle, Monica, Nancy, Pam, Patty, Reggie, Sabrina, Skyler, Sobhie, Lori, Lori Z; Empower Therapy Group, Tabitha; Blount Senior Care, Mary Walker, NP; and staff from Brookdale Brown's Creek, Caitlyn, Denise and Jama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Camp in the Community – a free mobile day camp for underserved children directed by Nancy's granddaughter, Whitney Winston.

A private memorial service will be held in Nancy's honor at a later date.
