Maxine Phillips, a long-time resident of Maryville, quietly passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 while in Blount Memorial Hospital.
Born on May 5, 1937 in Louisville, TN, Maxine graduated from Friendsville High School in 1956. Maxine went straight to beauty school and earned her cosmetology license.
Maxine worked as a beautician for well over 60 years. The majority of those years she worked as a stylist at Michael's Hair Styling Salon and eventually was the owner of the salon until it closed in 2015. Even then she continued doing hair part-time until she officially retired in 2020 because of Covid.
Maxine was also an amazing cook and anyone that met her also knew what an incredible sense of humor she had! She was young at heart and enjoyed her life!
Maxine was dearly loved and she dearly loved her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of many years, Robert "Bob" Phillips, who retired as Lieutenant with the Maryville Police Department.
She is also preceded in death by her Mother, Ada Bell Patty of Louisville, Brother, Billy Patty and Sister, Martha Bell Morton.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Phillips,
Daughter, Pam Wilson (Jeff) and
Kelly Phillips. Brothers, Wayne Patty (Janice) and Denny Patty (Faye). Sisters, June Shular and Reva Nail (R.E.).
Grandchildren, Brooke Taylor (Jonathan), Brandon Malone (Micah),
Maitlyn Phillips, Morgan Phillips, Kendall Phillips and Hunter Phillips, Hanna Wilson, Hope Wilson and Lexie Wilson.
Great Grandchildren, Ella Malone and Araya Taylor.
Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Receiving Friends will be Monday, July 24, 2023, 5pm - 7pm and the Celebration of Life immediately following at 7pm at Miller Funeral Home.
Tuesday, July 25, 2023, Family and Friends will gather at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, TN at the mausoleum for a short service and internment at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers it was Maxine's wish and the wish of her family, that donations be made to "The Cara Project" in memory of her niece Cara.
