Mary Evelyn Quiett, Daughter of Pleas and Alene Payne, was born February 20, 1937 and passed away on August 25, 2026 at the age of 89.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tyson Quiett and son, Dan Guinn Feezell. She is survived by her three daughters. Mona (Art) Humphrey, Kathy Campbell, and Nancy (Mark) Moon. Grandson’s Vann Humphrey, Jeff Humphrey, and Kelly Moon. Granddaughter’s Jamie Shoup and Tara Caudill. She also has 11 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Mary Evelyn Quiett had 8 siblings. She was especially close to three of her sisters, Joan Ridenour, Irene Miller, and Janice Howell and they were affectionately called the Payne Sisters. Her other siblings included Raymond Payne, Arthur Payne (Deceased), Monty Payne (Deceased), Pleasy Payne (Deceased), and Sue Hurst.

Evelyn was a resident of Alcoa, TN and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and excellent Seamstress and also enjoyed Gardening, Canning Vegetables, Knitting, Crocheting, and Baking. She was a gifted Pianist, Organist, and could also play the Steel Guitar and Accordion.

She will have a private graveside service for family members at Hillcrest Baptist Church at a later date.
