Martha Sue Hatcher Garland Hearon, 89, of Maryville passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at her home.  Mart was a member of Nelson Chapel Church of Christ and Maryville Church of Christ.

She often said that she lived two lives. The first was with her marriage to Jim Garland and having a son, Mitch. The second was when she married Cecil Hearon and having twins, Mike and Missi. Raising her children as she was raised, she valued teaching family values and having close ties, Sunday lunch after church was anticipated with certain laughs and togetherness.

Martha was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Garland and Cecil Hearon; parents, Lijah and Lillian Steele Hatcher; siblings, Bruce, Owen, Agnes, Ralph, and Paul.

Those left behind are her children, Mitch (Crystal) Garland, Mike (Evelyn) Hearon, and Missi (Mike) Fields; grandchildren, Grace (Travis) Galyon, Michaela (Matthew) Sentell, Elijah Hearon, Parker (Bethany) Fields, and Pearson Fields; and great-grandchildren, Luke Sentell and Brooks Fields.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Minister Stan Foster officiating.  A private family graveside service will be held at West Miller's Cove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
