Luther
Williams
Oct 11, 1937 — May 5, 2026
Maryville
Luther Williams, age 88, quietly went home to be with his Lord and Savior with his children by his side on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
He will be remembered for his steadfast faith and service to God, holding such offices as Deacon, Trustee, and Sunday School Teacher, as well as singing tenor in several gospel groups throughout the years. Luther was currently a member of Birchfield Baptist Church.
Luther's hobby was woodworking and he enjoyed creating numerous wood boxes, miniature dressers, tables etc. from many different types of wood. It gave him joy to be able to gift these items to family, friends, cashiers at the grocery, nurses, pharmacy, and visiting church missionaries from other countries including Jerusalem and Japan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Reba Williams; precious wife, Carol Williams; brothers, Wayne, Dewey, Linvle, and Willard Williams; sister, Zetta Ridge; and grandson, Martin W. Davis Jr.
Luther is survived by his sister, Melva (Jackie) Emert; seven children, Sandra Davis, Gerald "Jerry" Williams, Teresa Lynch, Jim Williams, Jeff Williams, John Williams, and Jack Williams; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to the members of Birchfield Baptist Church, Allegheny Baptist Church and family for all their help and support during this time.
