Lula McMahan, age 90, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022. She was born on September 26, 1931, to Lonnie and Sarah Purkey. She lived her entire life in Blount County. She was a longtime member of Centenary Missionary Baptist Church and a recent member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. Lula married Raymond Earl McMahan on August 24, 1956. They enjoyed 65 wonderful years together. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Claude Purkey, twin sister Trula Gumm and sisters Ruby Quillen and Bobbie Mayfield.  She is survived by her husband Earl of Maryville, son Mark and wife Sheila of Walland, grandson Dakota and wife Caitlin of Walland, brother Paul Purkey and wife Belinda of Gray, Tennessee, brother-in-law Vernon Gumm of Maryville, sisters-in-law Mildred Hembree and June both of Georgia and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 3:00PM Tuesday March 22, 2022  for a graveside service with the Rev. Clifton Hearon officiating.  Family and friends may call at their convenience from 10:00AM until 2:00PM Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home. The family requests no flowers.
