Kenneth Clay Gentry, age 85, of Maryville went to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 13, 2024 surrounded by his loving family with his sons and wife holding his hands.  He was a concrete finisher from the time he was a young boy but retired from Mary Blount Elementary after 10 years of service as a custodian.  Kenneth lived in the same community for 75 years and was an avid fisherman and loved fishing with his son, Tim.  Kenneth loved going on road trips and vacations with his sons, David and Mark.

He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Regina K. Gentry and Jeana Rose Swihart; parents, Earl and Jewell Gentry; sister and brother-in-law, Earlene and Tom McGuffey; and brother-in-law, Sterling Post.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rosetta "Rosie" Gentry; children, David (Teresa) Gentry, Tim (Janice) Gentry, and Mark (Julie) Gentry; grandchildren, Rebecca Franklin, Jason Gentry, Daniel Gentry, Anthony Gentry, Allison Gentry, Andrew Gentry, Makayla White, and Mikey White; several loving great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter, Renee Rose; sister, Melissa Post; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. Grayson Garrett officiating.  Family and friends may pay their respects Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
