John Woodrow "Tater" Sparks Jr., age 75, of Townsend, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the family home.

Tater was a descendant of the Sparks family from Cades Cove.  He built many homes, mostly log homes in Blount, Sevier and surrounding counties as owner of Kuntryfied Log Homes.

Preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Laura Sparks, brothers, Ed, Pete, Bill, and Bud Sparks; sisters, Gaynell, Mae Bell, Darlene, Paulette, Judy, Joyce, and Peggy.

Survivors include his wife of 51years, Rosemary Hatcher Sparks; son, John "Rusty" Sparks; daughter and son in law, Laura and Kevin Kelso; grandchildren, Cody McLemore, Savanna McLemore and Madeline Kelso; great grandchildren, Harper "Rat" McLemore and Atticus "Brat" McLemore; sisters, Betty Jo, Deana, and Shirley; adopted daughter, Monica; and God Daughter, Annette; special nephew, Rod; and many other special nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.  Friends may call at their convenience any time at the family home.
