John Kristy, age 88, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan to John and Mary Krystopowicz, and was an avid athlete in his younger years and an excellent golfer.  John served in the US Navy and retired from Ford Motor Company and also worked for Chrysler Corp for 12 years.  He worked at Cape Canaveral with the US Space program as an Electronics Technician.  During this time he started college and after 16 years he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Tena Maranowski and infant granddaughter, Ariana Elizabeth Kristy.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn Kristy; children, David (Kristi) Kristy, Stephen (Judith) Kristy, and Sandra Stone; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Mary) Krystopowicz and Michael (Bonnie) Krystopowicz; and many cousins and special friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 11, 2023 at First United Methodist Church of Maryville, Rev. Jonathon Jonas officiating.   Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
