Jimmy L. "JW" West age 72, of Friendsville passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 after and extended illness.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vina West; brothers, Carl West and Bill West; sister, Johnnie West; step-son, Joshua Gladden.  He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kay West; precious daughters, Tonya (West) Jarman and Sherry Russell; spoiled grandsons, Jeremy Jarman and Jason Russell; adored great-granddaughter, Delaney Russell; beloved sisters, Nellie (Clyde) Rayburn, BJ Garner, and Faye (Gene) Teeple; many treasured nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was Pappy to everyone's kids and loved to be part of their lives.  Jimmy never met a stranger and loved to cut up.  Devoted Deputy for the Blount County Sherriff's Office retiring in 2015.  He loved his Brothers in Blue and was always thankful for them.  If you received a nickname you were loved.  Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Gerald Jones officiating.  Interment will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
