Jimmy Larry Jones, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1st, 2026.

Jim was born in East Tennessee on November 8, 1948, and spent much of his life in Kokomo, Indiana, where he lived and worked until he retired and moved back to Maryville, Tennessee.

He honorably served his country in Vietnam. He was known for his love of music and family.

Jim is survived by wife Phyllis Jones, sons and daughters-in-law Bret & Melanie Jones and Brock and Kelli Jones; grandchildren Kera Jones, Anna Jones, Lucas Jones, Addison Jones, and Henry Jones; sister Mary Hughes; sisters-in-law Carol Sitzes and Judy Wilson; brothers and sisters-in-Law Tom and Rita Jones and Wayne and Chris Jones; nieces Elaine Law and Mary Jo Green (who both provided invaluable assistance during his final weeks, days, and hours); caregiver Tabby; and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by parents Luke and Nina Jones; sister and brother-in-law Barb and Ernie Herin; brothers Henry 'Dee' Jones and Steve Jones; brothers-in-law Tony Hughes, Loren Sitzes, and Ronald Wilson; granddaughter Molly Jones; and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a graveside service at Williamson Chapel Cemetery on Saturday, June 6th, at 11:00 AM. Jim was well-loved by many, and in lieu of flowers, the family asks everyone to just be more kind and caring to those you meet.
