Obituary

Janet Marie Finger, age 62 of Alcoa, TN, transitioned from this life to her eternal home on May 8, 2024.  She was greeted at the pearly gates by her husband of 40 years, Beecher Ivan Finger, paternal grandparents James and Dicie Inman, maternal grandparents Fritz and Pearl Kaehler, mother and father-in-law Mildred and Beecher Finger, sister-in-law Donna Teffeteller, brother-in-law Charles Collins,a host of aunts and uncles, and countless loving pets.

Janet was born in Belvedere, IL, where her family lived until her teen years, when they moved to Walland, TN.  Janet attended Heritage High School and was a graduate of the Tennessee School of Beauty.  She worked for many years at Sally Beauty Supply and then transitioned to work at Asbury Acres providing hair care services to the residents.  Although life would take her in a different direction in her career in quality control, she still loved doing hair whenever she had the chance for family members.  She was honored to give her grandson his very first haircut as a baby.  Her love of plants made her an asset when working for Plant Partners and Gardenvision.  She worked at many factories providing quality control over the years, including her most recent employer of 10 years, Mativ Healthcare (SCAPA).  Of all Janet's jobs, her most favorite was being a Nana.

Janet was a true woman of God, who met her loving husband, Beecher Ivan, at Mountain View Church of God while praying at the altar.  Janet attended many churches throughout her life, following Rev. Ronnie Reagan wherever God led him.  Over the past two years, she attended RIO Heritage, where she praised the Lord with her arms spread wide.  She was a prayer warrior and loved her church family dearly.

Janet was an avid gardener.  She was a lover of all plants, especially roses.  She loved to cook and bake.  Her coconut cake and strawberry cake were favorites among many.  She welcomed many into her home over the years, becoming a second mom to her childrens' friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents Ray and Rosemary Inman, daughter Tabitha (Brian) Morgan, son Brian "Zeke" Finger, favorite stray daughter Ashlee (Linus) Goodman, brother Jim Inman, sister Teresa (Marcus) Walker, brother Peanut (Isla) Inman, best friend and chosen sister Bev Kacksion, sisters-in-law Linda Inman, Jeannette Stephens, Gerry Collins, Mary Hicks, brothers-in-law Jeff (Sandra) Finger and James Teffeteller, grandchildren Katie "Kai" Morgan and Gabriel Morgan, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, friends, and work family.  She was loved by all who met her, and she will be terribly missed.

The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Home on Monday, May 13th from 5-7 PM, with the memorial service following.  Rev. Ronnie Reagan officiating.  A service will be held at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery Rotunda on John Sevier Highway  on Tuesday, May 14th at 12:30 where Janet will be laid to rest with her loving husband.  Pastor Jimmy Effler officiating.

The family would like to thank Miller Funeral home for their compassion and care through this difficult time. Tabitha and Zeke would like to thank their extended family, friends, church and work families for the outpouring of love, kindness, and prayers.

"For I know the Plans I have for you, declares the LORD.  Plans to prosper you and not harm you.  Plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11
