James Lee "Jim/Mousey" Daugherty, age 78, of Alcoa, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 16, 2026.  He was a proud veteran of 10 years serving in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jim retired from the United States Postal Service after 22 years of service. He was an avid drag racer, served as a chaplain for ORSCA and was a member of the 4.40 Bad Boyz racing organization. Jim was very active with his grandchildren and family. Jim bled orange and was a dedicated UT Vols fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margie Daugherty; brother, George Daugherty; and sisters, Anna Daugherty and Suzanne Daugherty.

Jim is survived by his children, James Lee "Jimmy" Daugherty II, Tammy Lee Daugherty (Jeff) Painter, Wendy Lee Daugherty (Jason) Click, Michael Lynn (Kimberly) Daugherty; grandchildren, Kari Jayne Daugherty, Bishop "Cain" Daugherty, 1LT Noah Drake Painter, US ARMY & CPT Madison Marcello Painter, US ARMY, Caleb James Painter, Keelan James Daugherty, Lillian Grace Daugherty, Adan Mena, Maleah Kelley and David James Daugherty Simms; and great-granddaughter, Hadleigh Rae Engle; brothers, John (Linda) Daugherty, Samuel "Sammy" (Sharon) Daugherty, and Christopher "Chris" (Crystal) Daugherty; special friend, Janice Hayes Brantley; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel. Interment will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, July 10, 2026, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
