James R. “Paw or JR” Holden, 83, of Maryville passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, September 19, 2026. James retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company after 35 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpaw, and great-grandpaw who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Daniel Holden; mother, Hazel Holden; and spouses, Barbara Holden and Nell Holden.

James is survived by his daughters, Angie (Wes) Martin and Tammy Holden; grandchildren, Cody (Emily) Holden, Dylan Martin, Taylor Martin; great-granddaughter, Camille Holden; dear friend of the family, Sue Ann Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, September 25, 2026, at Grandview Cemetery.
