James R. Baumgardner, age 71, of Rockford, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Blount Memorial Hospital.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Ida Baumgardner; and sister, Susan.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Esther Baumgardner; children, Edgar Baumgardner and Sarah Baumgardner; siblings, Elmer Baumgardner, Clyde Baumgardner, and Dexter Baumgardner; and several nieces and nephews.  A private graveside service will be held at Carpenter's Campground UMC Cemetery, Rev. Mark Muse officiating.  Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
