George Louis Roemer, 83, passed away August 17, 2023.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Alcoa, Tennessee.  George grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where he loved being a farmer and raising cattle.  All who knew George understood his love for the Lord, his generous nature, an avid Ham Radio Operator (KG4FSD), and his love for the education of children.  George retired from the Baltimore, Maryland School System.  He and his wife, Carol moved to Maryville to be close to her sister and brother-in-law, Edward and Corinne Bayne.  George continued with teaching as a beloved substitute teacher at Maryville High School.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lydia Roemer of Maryland; wife of 53 years, Carol Rosensteel Roemer, who died December 12, 2018; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Corinne Bayne Sr.  He is survived by his nephew, Eddie Bayne of Maryville, TN; sister-in-law, Cheryl Rosensteel of Pennsylvania; niece and husband, Beth and Cory Sisco of Pennsylvania.
