George Alexander Griffitts, age 78, of Maryville passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.  George was born on December 2, 1943 in Maryville, TN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John Woodrow Griffitts and Iva Jean Fortner Stroud; and step-father, Earl Stroud.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Darlena Miller Griffitts; daughters, Lena K. Wilson and Cara (Robert) Roach; grandchildren, Jordan (Donny) Reisig, Alex Wilson, Ashley (Josh) Wisecarver; great-grandchildren, Harper and Hylie Reisig, Cade and Zoe Wisecarver; sister, Sharon Walker; sister-in-law, Jean (Roger) Payne; special nieces, Leslie (Mike) Whaley, Samantha (James) Boggs, and Tammy Thomas.  George was one of a kind, with a heart of gold. He will be missed by many.  No services will be held per his request.  Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
