Etta Sue Hurst (Connatser), age 85 of Friendsville, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on August 20, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and sister. Etta was a surrogate mother to many students during her years of housekeeping at Maryville College. Etta made everyone she met feel like family and will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of meeting her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chief Eldria Hurst; parents, Dewey and Carrie Connatser; sisters, Fredia Stephens and Francis Cantrell; and brother, Paul Connatser.

She is survived by son and special friend, Olin Hurst and Darlene Strange; son and daughter-in-love Mike and Sherry Hurst, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Tony lerulli, daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Joe Crabtree, and daughter and late son-in-law, Myra and Darin Lambert; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorcas Holt, Brenda Schultz, and Betty Abbott.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Blount Memorial Hospice nurses that took such good care of Etta.

Pastors Quentin Caldwell and Jason Word will officiate a celebration of life service at Gray Ridge Baptist Church, 2527 S. Carver Road, Maryville TN, 37801. The family will receive friends on August 27th from 5 until 7 p.m. with the funeral following at 7 p.m.
