DH “Tim” Tipton, twelve days shy of 93, of Townsend went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Ben Atchley Veterans Home in Knoxville. Tim served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Tim was a Mason for 65 years and currently a member of the Masonic Lodge #519.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Clemmie Tipton and siblings, Ouris, Hayes, Mable, Stella, George, John, and Delores.

Tim is survived by his wife of 71 years, Daisy Sue Tipton; children, Pattie (Robert) Zeige, Linda (Roger) Evans, Dana Trent, Gail, George (Kristi) Tipton; grandchildren, Stacy Bell, Timmy Evans, Andrew Smith, Alex Evans, Nick Trent, Abby Tipton, Brandon Trent, and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Sutton, LillieRay, AddieMae, and Summit; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel. Interment service will follow at Campground Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
