Darrell Grady Cable
August 21, 1932 – December 20, 2024

Darrell Grady Cable, 92, of Greenback, TN, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on December 20, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on August 21, 1932, Darrell lived a life devoted to his faith, his family, and the land he cherished so deeply.

A man of unwavering faith, Darrell was a faithful member and dedicated deacon at Morganton Baptist Church. He was an example of godly humility, strength, and compassion. His love for God was evident in every aspect of his life.

Darrell found great joy in his big family, who were the center of his world. His love, wisdom, and warmth enriched the lives of his loved ones. He was not only a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, but also a treasured friend to many.

One of Darrell's favorite pastimes was visiting Cades Cove. Throughout many family gatherings, he would often reminisce about his time working and living there, telling stories of the past.

He took great pride in working on his beloved farm. Cable's HillCrest Farms was not only a place where he worked the land and tended his cattle, but the home of countless family gatherings.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Evelyn Riden Cable, children Jan (Joe) Cope, Renee (Tommy) Berry, Sherry (Chris) Vogt, Kelly (Gary) Lewelling, and Missy (Ritchie) Anderson all of Greenback, Rick (Sherri) Riden of Maryville, and Cissy Lee of Madisonville, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents William Barney and Bertha Cable, sisters Vearl Ford and Vonda Riden, and grandchildren Kasee Cope, April Michelle, Willow Wendel, and Elijah Haney.

A celebration of Darrell's life and faith will be held on December 23, 2024 at Miller Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where friends and family are invited to honor his legacy. Graveside services will follow at Morganton cemetery on December 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greenback Food Pantry in Darrell's memory P.O. Box 67, Greenback, TN 37742 care of Gail Disney.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the 4 North Floor team at Blount Memorial Hospital, for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Darrell's final days. Your kindness brought comfort to him and his loved ones during this difficult time.

Darrell Grady Cable was a man of strong faith, a heart full of love, and hands that worked tirelessly. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, generosity, and an abiding trust in God.
