Dale Douglas (Doug) Sauls, age 69, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Doug was born in Maryville, Tennessee on December 19, 1951. Doug was the middle child born to Clyde I. "Butch" and Katherine (Nix) Sauls. He was a much-loved father, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and a friend to many. A dedicated and loving father, his sons embrace their memories knowing that nothing mattered more to him than family. "We are grateful as sons to have had a father, that even when it was hard, cared for us beyond himself." Doug attended Alcoa High School and ETSU and created his career in the Automotive industry. He was a retiree from Advance Auto Parts and worked much of his career for Import Motor Products and made many friends in the process. He is preceded in death by parents Clyde and Katherine Sauls, and brother David Sauls. He is survived by loving sons Christopher, Taylor, and William Sauls, dedicated sister Debra Sauls and partner Sherron Smith, Niece Diane (Mic) Sauls Gorman, former spouse and mother of their sons Joanie Helton Sauls, as well as many cousins and friends. Thank you to his UT Emergency, Neurology, Oncology Doctors and their teams, various Nursing staff, Pastors, and Palliative/Hospice care. Having endured a brief aggressive battle with Astrocytoma Glioma, it was the staff of the Comfort Care unit who exceeded their efforts to insure Doug's dignity. A very special thank you to these Physicians, Nurses, Aides and staff for their compassion and assurance of peace and comfort for Doug. The graveside and interment service will be held 2:00 PM  Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Chilhowee View Cemetery, 541 Pleasant Hills Rd. Maryville, TN.  Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
