Obituary

Constance "Connie" Liane Heaton (12/29/1962-05/02/2025)

Connie went to be with our Heavenly Father peacefully on May 2nd, 2025. Over the course of her life, she was headstrong, independent, and loved and protected her family fiercely.

She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Louisville, KY in 1986 and was the first person in her family to graduate from college. She served as a Sergeant for the Hillview Police Department in Hillview, KY; she later became a Pharmacy Technician for Norton Hospitals in Louisville, KY; then, after a brief retirement, she became a Middle School Teacher at Micah Christian Academy in Hillview, KY.

Connie loved to color and paint pictures for her family and had a beautiful singing voice that led to many a karaoke night. She loved classic rock music and saw many of her favorite bands live. She loved playing video games, particularly the Legend of Zelda series. She enjoyed watching all different types of TV series and had seen every episode ever made of Survivor. But, more than anything, she loved to read. An avid reader her whole life, from Fantasy to Sci-Fi to Horror, if she had a spare moment, she was always immersed in whatever world she chose for the day.

Through her own struggles, she was always the one to be a pillar of strength and support for those who needed her. She raised her children to be independent, motivated, empathetic, and driven individuals while supporting every success and milestone they achieved. She always said that they were the best thing about her and what she was most proud of in her life. She cared deeply for her family, helping raise her grandchildren and taking care of her mother. At any time, she was always there to provide support, be the one to lean on, and guide whoever needed her. Our world will never be the same without her.

She is preceded in death by her son, David Rausch Jr.; daughter, Callandra Rausch; father, Stanley Heaton Sr.; grandparents, William Roe and Clara Heaton, Boyd and Bernice Baker; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She leaves behind her mother, Charlotte Heaton of Louisville, KY; brother, Stanley "Warren" Heaton Jr. (Melissa) of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Cassandra "Cassi" Rausch-Todd (Brandon) of Phoenix, AZ; son, Seth Rausch (Summer) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Callandra "Cal" Rausch-Prather, Lillian "Lil" Rausch-Williams, and Cade Rausch of Louisville, KY; nephew, Stanley "Stan" Heaton III (Katie), with great niece Zelda Heaton; Aunt, Carol Curtis  (Frank) of Maryville, TN; Uncle, Terry Baker (Denita) of Louisville, KY; and many more family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2025, at Nelson Chapel Church of Christ. Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
