Connie Akins was born on October 22, 1928, and passed away on August 27, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her infectious laugh and willingness to help anybody when needed.

Preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas and Roda Rosezzille Chambers; 11 siblings and many nieces and nephews; 3 loving husbands, Robert Newton Ward, Carl Noah Breeden, and Burl Ambrose Akins; and loving son, Thomas Newton Ward.

She is survived by her children, Patsy (Jimmy) Golden, Bob (Shirley) Ward, and Cindy Cable; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Jenny Ward.

The family would like to thank each and everyone for all the prayers, text, and home visits during this time it was greatly appreciated.

Graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, August 31, 2026, at Laurel Bank Cemetery, Pastor Craig Ward and Pastor Tim Townsend officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
