It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clarence T. Huddleston Jr., who left us on July 12, 2024. Born on November 12, 1935, Clarence was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend whose life was marked by service and commitment to his community and his Country.

Clarence graduated from Baxter Seminary in 1954, a milestone that set the foundation for his lifelong dedication to service. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clarence Taylor Sr. and Eleanor Ensor Huddleston. Clarence proudly served in the Air National Guard for 35 years, including a veteran of the historic Berlin Crisis.

He was the loving husband of Bettye Leftwich Huddleston for 62 years, sharing a lifetime of love and memories. A cherished member of the Carpenters Methodist Church for over 30 years, Clarence found joy and purpose in his faith and the friendships he cultivated there.

An avid sports fan, Clarence had a particular passion for University of Tennessee sports, cheering on the Volunteers with unwavering enthusiasm.  He was Vol for Life!!!

He is survived by his two children, Debby Huddleston Francis and her husband Doug of Cookeville, TN, and Don Huddleston of Maryville, TN. He is also survived by three brothers: Ronnie Huddleston, Dow Huddleston, and Gary Huddleston of Buffalo Valley, TN. Clarence was a loving grandfather to three grandchildren: Emily Francis of Sparta, TN, Leanne Humphrey (Cody) of Maynardville, TN, and William Francis (Sabrina) of Cookeville, TN, and he was a proud great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren.

Clarence will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday at Carpenter's Campground United Methodist Church. The funeral will be held at noon at the church with the interment to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Carpenter's Campground United Methodist Church, 3538 Best Road, Maryville, Tennessee  37803, in Clarence's honor.

We have the assurance from God's Word that because of Clarence's faith in Jesus Christ, he is now with Him in Heaven and has been reunited with his beloved wife, Bettye.
