Obituary

Clara Faye Spencer Dunlap, of Maryville, formerly of Rockford, grew up in Alcoa, born in Unitia on January 12, 1937 passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Carl and Hester L. Endsley Spencer; brothers, Kenneth Spencer, Donald Spencer, and Raymond Spencer; sisters, Charlsie Spencer Wright, Barbara Spencer Morton; husband, James W. Dunlap; and daughter, Carol A. Dunlap.

Survivors include: her son, Paul W. (Cindy) Dunlap; daughter, Nancy F. (Brian) Scates; sisters, Gene Spencer Roberts, Sharon Spencer McKamey, Vivian Spencer Cloninger, and Betty Spencer Salado; grandchildren, William R. Utley, Chad W. Dunlap, Chelsea Dunlap Thomasson, Emily Zellner; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Clara is a graduate of Alcoa High School and Roane State Community College.  She will be remembered as a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, faithful wife, loving and caring mother, and loyal friend to many.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to Avalon Hospice and all the caregivers for Mrs. Dunlap.

The family would like to invite any and all to a memorial service that will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Unitia Free Saints Holiness Church, 7777 Unitia Rd, Lenoir City, TN 37772.  Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
