Charles Matt Wates, 42, of Rockford, took his flight to be with our Heavenly Father Friday October 7, 2022. Matt was the wonderful son of Charlie and Phyllis Wates. He was the owner of a successful roofing company called Matt's Roofing. Matt had so many wonderful friends. He is processed in death by his father, Charlie, grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Matt leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother Phyllis Wates; children, Gracey and Early Wates; sister, Mary Rowland; nephews, Plez and Braden; niece, India. Matt was cherished by several uncles, aunts and cousin. Matt's best friend and the one that went everywhere with him, his fur baby "P-nut". Matt's services will be held 5:00 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Mother Love Church.
