Charles Solen Odom III, (also affectionately known as Rick, Hoot, Pops, and Papaw) went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 20, 2024. Rick was born to Charles and Lorene Odom on January 28, 1949.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rick is survived by his children, Nikki Odom, Talehma (Rickey) Bright, Shannon Odom, Samantha (Scott) Blair; grandchildren, Gracie, Olivia, Jasmyn, Taylor, Tanner, and Trevor; 4 brothers; 5 sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.

Rick enjoyed being active over the years playing softball for many years, coaching numerous softball teams, and bowled in a league.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his brother, Robert, and loved to "beat" his brother Bill and sister-in-law, Sandy in cards.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Alcoa for many years.  Rick loved life and fought hard until the very end.  He received some excellent care and the family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Soto, Krista, and Lauren. It means so much that they treated him like their own family.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Greg Kelly officiating.  The interment will follow at Williamson Chapel Cemetery with Trevor Bright, Matthew Finck, Michael Gumm, Kobey Gumm, Scott Blair, and Tanner Blair acting as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
