Charles Jacob "C.J." Tarwater, 27, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital.

He was born October 8, 1995 and graduated from William Blount High School.  He enjoyed spending time with his girls, fishing, and hunting.  He was a skilled laborer.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Tarwater, Linda Burns, Danny and Jean Phillips.

He is survived by his cherished children, Elizabeth Nicole and Faith Joanne Tarwater; mother of his children, Danielle Gilman; parents, Beth (Marty) Phillips, Gene Morton, and Misty Baldwin; siblings, A.J. Tarwater, Logan Morton, Makaila Ellen Shae Rogers, Richard Morton, and Aaron (Kayla) Phillips; grandparents, Sue Tarwater, Roy and Liz Rogers, and Ronnie Burns; great-grandparents, E.R. and Bessie Tarwater, Wanda Smelcer, and Millard Hicks; uncles, Allen Tarwater, Howie Morton, and Mike (Gena) Rogers; aunts, Stephanie Tarwater, Diann Cable, Sherill Morton, Missy Burns, and Melissa Rogers; special friends, Brian (Bri) and Austin Dotson, Nanny and Paw.

A special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the 4 ^th Floor CV ICU unit of Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Tyson McKeehan officiating.  Interment will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at Bakers Creek Cemetery, with pall bearers, Allen, Gene, Marty, Stephanie, A.J. Logan, Aaron, Brian, and Austin.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
