Obituary

Charles Woodrow Cooper, 85, of Maryville passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his home.  Charles was an avid knife collector and made walking and hiking sticks.  He loved to gift his knives and walking sticks to family and friends. He also loved fishing and going to the flea market.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 58 ½ years, Janie Ruth Cooper; parents, Charles "Dave" and Oma Russell Cooper; brother, Doyle Cooper; sister, Zelda (Horace) Everett; sisters-in-law, Shirley Cooper and Helen "Mousie" Reno.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Cooper Stephens; just like a daughter, Barbara Lambert (Charlie) Russell; grandson, D. Alan Stephens; brother, Allen Cooper; sister, Norma (James) O'Dell; sisters-in-law, Iva Reno and Jo Cooper; and many special "lifelong" friends, nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Dr. Ibrahim Shalaby, Charles' favorite doctor for over 25 years, UT Cancer Specialists of Alcoa, Dr. Wheeler and Dr. Schrock, special friends Lyndsie and Sydney, Blount Memorial Hospital 4 North Doctors and Nurses, and Blount Memorial Hospice.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Rev. Rex Everett officiating.  Family and friends may pay their respect from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
