Carrol Elizabeth Robinson Hurley, 79, lifelong resident of Mt. Gilead, NC, passed away December 17, 2021 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Jill Hurley, in Knoxville, TN.

Carrol was born March 4, 1942 to the late Robert and Ruby Robinson in Mt. Gilead.  She graduated from Mt. Gilead High School in 1960. Carrol was married to Bobby Hurley on September 9, 1961. They were married for 60 years.

Carrol was actively involved in her community through many work and volunteer positions. She worked for Dr. V.L. Andrews and for Capel Rugs at the Metrolina Antique Mart, both for eleven years each. She served many key positions on the Mt. Gilead Park and Recreation Commission, the Mt. Gilead Historic Preservation Commission, was an active member of the Amity Club, and held many roles throughout the years at First Baptist Church of Mt. Gilead. She had a passion for antiques, a talent for decorating, and loved working in her beautiful yard.

Carrol is survived by her husband, Bobby, son Chad and wife Lori, son Derrick and wife Jill, grandchildren Andrew, Kaitlin, Evan, Taylor, and Emily, great granddaughter Amelia, brother Roy Robinson and wife Cindy, sister Margaret Cormack and husband Bill, and several dear nephews, nieces, and friends.
