Billy Ray
Nuchols Jr.
May 4, 1955 — May 12, 2026
Maryville
Billy Ray Nuchols Jr age 71 of Maryville, TN went to be with his lord Jesus Christ on May 12th, 2026. Billy or "Bo" as he was referred to by his friends and family was born on May 4, 1955, in Maryville, TN where he resided his entire life. He was the son of Billy and Della Mae Nuchols.
Bo will be remembered most by those who loved him for his kindness, generous spirit, and easy-going attitude. There was never a stranger when it came to Bo, and he had a knack for always picking people up and brightening any room he walked into. His lifelong love of sports, specifically softball, took him around the Southeast making countless memories and lifelong friendships that continued until the end of his life.
Bo, always the jokester, loved to get people going, loved "running the roads", and eating out with his crew. They had a weekly restaurant list, and it was once said that they spent enough at Shoney's in a month to pay for half the city's electric bill!
Papaw Bo loved children and this was reflected in the love he showed to his four grandchildren. Papaw loved bringing strawberries, donuts, cakes, and pies, and loved buying as many hot dogs as he could at the ballfields. Basically, anything they were not supposed to have, Bo got a kick out of slipping them a treat whenever he saw fit.
Above all, Bo will be remembered for his kindness. What a legacy to leave behind being known most for your kindness and a giving spirit. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched. There are far too many people to thank or acknowledge, but Bo cherished the memories he made with all his friends and family.
Bo is survived by his wife of 38 years Susan Nuchols. Daughter Chelsey Caylor (Tanner), son Matt Thompson (Heather). Sister's Linda McGeorge and Sharon Holman, and brother Ronnie Nuchols (Dorie). Grandchildren Case and Sloan Caylor and Mae and Turner Thompson, and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bo is preceded in death by his Father Billy Rae Nuchols Sr. and Mother Della Mae Nuchols.
Bo will be lying in repose at Miller Funeral Home in Maryville, TN from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday May 18th for those that wish to pay their final respects. Flowers and arrangements may be dropped off at this time; memorial book will also be available to sign as well for those that attend.
