Billy Max Manning, age 78, of Maryville went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at his home.  He was a member of Piney Level Baptist Church, an avid hiker, certified in disaster relief, and worked with the wheelchair ramp ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Annabelle Manning; brothers, Newell and Ray; and sisters, Dorothy, Geraldine, and Edith.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois Gaynelle Manning; daughter, Laura Manning (Kevin) Grayble; grandson, Logan Daniel Grayble; brothers, Harold (Carol) Manning and Ron (Linda) Manning; special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billie Jones, John (Ann) Abbott, Jennie Cook, Cindy Thomason, Tom Thomason, Robin (Colette) Abbott; many nieces and nephews; and special hiking friends, Pete, Gerald, John, Doug, and Joe whose friendship meant the world to him.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 19, 2024, at Piney Level Baptist Church, Pastor Mike Boring and Pastor Keith Ross officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday at Piney Level Baptist Church, 3527 Piney Level Church Rd. Maryville, TN 37803.
