Billie Jo Payne, 81, of Maryville went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at her home. She was a community mother, mentor, a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of American Legion, and a member of Williamson Chapel Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Derryl J. Payne; parents, Ed and Beatrice Braden; sisters, Betty J. Garibay and Sherry A. Millsaps; and nephew, William Shawn Braden.

Billie is survived by her children, Gene P Herron II, Daniel (Ronda) Herron, Joy Herron (Jerry) Williams, Richard T. Payne, and Jeanette C. Payne; grandchildren, Erin Danielle Sampley, Cody Joe (Sarah) Herron, Kaitlyn A. Hall, Ryley Herron, Bethany A. Hilty, and Shelby (Tristan) Brown; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Edwinna G. Neace and Michael (Vonda) Braden; family members and friends, Julie A. Knight, Joan Chambers Buell, and Bobbie Allen; special cousin, M. Angela Barth; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Herron and Michael Herron; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Williamson Chapel Cemetery, Rev. Gaye King officiating.
