Billie Jean Buckner, age 96, of Maryville went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 11, 2024.  She was avid Bible reader, accomplished singer and musician, as well as an amateur bird watcher.  Billie was of the Protestant Baptist Faith, a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, and attended worship services with great fidelity. She was a shining example of family commitment… and exceptional mother and dedicated wife.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rev. Henry J. Buckner; sons, James Marcus Buckner and Henry J. Buckner Jr.; and two brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by sons, Rev. Robert Buckner; Bill (DeAnna) Buckner, Tim (Terry) Buckner, Tommy (Lisa) Buckner, Brian (Cindi) Buckner, and Myron (Susie) Buckner; grandchildren, Tammi Hodges, Melissa Buckner, Angela (Allan) King, Andy (Kristin) Buckner, Parker Sise, Jason Buckner, Heather Shamblin, Kristian Buckner, Laura Buckner, David Buckner, and Matthew Buckner; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Rev. Robert J. Buckner and Bro. Brian J. Buckner officiating.  Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
