Bert Haynes, age 79 of Friendsville, passed away to be with his heavenly father on February 16, 2024. Bert served in the U.S. Army; he also worked for Alcoa for 32 years and had many hobbies he loved. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Bert was preceded in death by his parents Roy Haynes and Vada Haynes, brothers, R.C., Herschel and Clifford Haynes; sisters, Flora Carmley and Lavinia Dotson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Marlene Haynes, daughter Susan Lewis, grandchild Dustin Lewis, brother Ernest Lynn Haynes and sister Floda Kennedy; brother-in-law Daniel French and wife Sue, several nieces and nephews; sisters- in- law Lois, Margaret and Mary Gail Haynes and his precious babies, Gabe, Gracie, and Joy. A special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospital nurses on 5 south, Blount Memorial Hospice and Palliative Care and Friendsville first responders.
